Foundation Fighting Blindness VisionWalk 2008

Where: Tower Grove Park, Sons of Rest Pavilion, 4256 Magnolia Avenue Starts: September 27th @ 9:00 AM Ends: September 27th @ 2:00 PM The FFB VisionWalk will be held on September 27th at Tower Grove Park in St. Louis. This Walk is an effort to raise awareness of eye diseases that cause blindness and to help raise donations to support the significant research efforts underway to find treatments and cures.

Jennifer, suffers Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP), a degenerative retinal disease for which there is no treatment.  She now has less than 3% of her vision remaining and it continues to get worse.  There is a lot of research being done so we are hopeful that, someday, her vision might be restored.    In the meantime, she deals with this challenge with more grace and good humor than I could ever attempt.

This year, Jennifer formed Team June Bug and her family and friends will be there to support her.  Registration and/or donations can be made here. If you plan on supporting the VisionWalk, please consider sponsoring Team June Bug!!

Proceeds of the walk will help us reach out to people in our area living with vision loss, as well as fund promising research into the cause, treatment and cures for retinal degenerative diseases.  With your involvement, we can help make a difference in the lives of all people living with vision loss and their families.
