Chelsea Clinton rolled into St. Louis the other day, and we learned quite a bit from what she said, and what she didn't say.
First of all, she clearly hates the traditional media. While doing a Q and A with a group of students from UMSL, she took questions from a guy holding a Ron Paul for president sign, ( who she referred to as "Ron Paul guy") and a man who wants all illegal immigrants to be sent back to Mexico. (His solution is to give all those immigrant farming jobs to homeless people. Hmm.) Anyway, Chelsea took those questions, but refused to answer any from people who hold the title of reporter or even happened to be in the little area where the reporters were standing. In fairness, if my mom and dad had marital problems that were the subject of "Meet the Press," and nightly Letterman monologues, I'd be pissed, too.
She touched on a number of topics relevant to the presidential race, however, and demonstrated her Stanford study skills are still intact. Like her dad, she coasted effortlessly through the campaign talking points with barely an, "um" or a stumble. Unfortunately, like her mom, she bored half the audience to death in the process. Bill's charisma, to this point, hasn't made the evolutionary journey.
It's clear that she's whip smart, and quick on her feet, just like both parents. (That has to be a given no matter your opinion of Bill and Hil')
The next question I've got is whether the campaign for her is really about her mother. Think about the historical ramifications for Chelsea: the only first kid to serve under two presidents! Potentially only the second first daughter to reach four terms! (Anna Roosevelt, below with dad, will likely have her mitts on this one for eternity, though technically she didn't finish her second term.)

Beyond that, we've decided here at ToastedRav.com that this may all be hype to get us ready for a "Chelsea in '16" campaign or some such thing. (Possibly a bare knuckles, brawl to the finish with the Bush twins.)
Tired of our dueling American dynasties yet?
Oh, by the way, Chelsea's much taller than you'd expect. Who knew?
