SCROLL DOWN for JAY's BIO -

I was born in St. Louis and grew up here, Minneapolis and San Jose, California...a multi-city childhood that prepared me well for the rock band-style, gypsy touring life that is a career in radio.

It's been a blast seeing America by working and living in all quadrants of the USA - I've been to 46 of our states and seen a lot of our amazing country, living and working in places like San Jose/San Francisco, Minneapolis, Seattle, Milwaukee, Norfolk/Virginia Beach, Springfield, IL, Dallas and Charleston, SC. I previously worked in St. Louis radio from 1995-97 when KSD was classic rock - (I think they play Polkas of the Antarctic now).

I came back to StL for good in 2006 to take care of family matters and have been with THE ARCH since June of 2007. It is the most perfect music station I have ever worked for, allowing me to indulge my rawk side as much as my love for pop music. It's my passion to bring all kinds of music to you and to dig around for the fun facts and stories behind the tunes and the people who make them.

I'm really lucky to be on TEAM ARCH, and I really appreciate that YOU listen. Thanks!

Meet Bruce Springsteen's NEW Drummer!

Yes, you read the headline correctly – Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band has a new drummer – at least for parts of the upcoming tour!

Jay Weinberg, son of longtime ESB drummer Max Weinberg will fill in for his father on tour with The Boss when conflicts arise with Max’s schedule on the Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien as it makes its debut from beautiful downtown Burbank, California in June.

Just before taking the stage to speak at the SXSW (South by Southwest) Music Conference in Austin, Texas, ESB guitarist “Little” Steven Van Zandt admitted he’d been avoiding the question and was relieved the announcement had finally been made: "Thank God they finally announced it. We already did three days of rehearsals. Jay's a fantastic drummer. It’s in the Weinberg DNA. Although it’s gonna be tricky. No matter how much work he does, Max has an ability that no one has, which is the ability to read Bruce’s mind. That’s become a requirement over 30 years. So I’m sure there will be some slight adjustments as far as that goes. Bruce may have to actually tell him what song we’re about to play, you know what I mean?”

What I think is odd is that Jay, as accomplished a drummer as he might be, would be given the Boss’ live shows to cover, rather than filling in on the TV show where he’d only have to play for a few minutes each hour, and be on camera for a few seconds at best.  I guess it’s a father’s love, respect and trust in his boy.  Check out the video of Jay on drums with the band doing "Born To Run"
