I was born and raised in St. Louis, so most people are surprised to hear that I have never sledded on Art Hill - until now that is.

After the recent snowfall, Mike and I decided that not only were we going to tackle our first sledding experience on Art Hill, we were going to see just what kind of extreme sledding downtown St. Louis had to offer. Two hours later, we had blown through bales of hay, sled down a flight of stairs, wiped out several times, checked out the sled graveyard in Forrest Park and broken my sled (and butt) as a result of sledding off a ramp. After holding on for dear life down Art Hill, the "adult hill" on Forest Park's golf course and the nearby ramp at Concordia Park, I think it's safe to say that extreme sledding is alive and well in downtown St. Louis.

Check out the the Featured Video tab to see where you can experience ultimate sledding for yourselves the next time it snows. May my sled rest in peace.
