I went to my first Arch Rival Roller Girls bout Saturday night (6/13) at All American Sports Complex and loved it. First of all, I've never seen so many tattooed women in one place... and that was just the crowd! Next, the announcer goes over the rules and scoring before the bout and it helps a novice fan like me. There is lots of floor seating, but I recommend going early and securing a spot in the Upper Deck Bar. You get a bird's eye view of the skaters AND you're closer to the beverages.
The Stunt Devils beat the Smashinistas, but for me the scoring was secondary to the skating, bumping and crashing into the floor. These girls play hard! The next bout is July 11th when the Stunt Devils (featuring Deathica Steele, she'll always give you a raw deal) tangling with the M-80's. Tickets are $10 with kids 10 and under free. They're available at the door or in advance at Cheap Trx on S. Grand.
