I work in a computer oriented field, but, quite often, I HATE computers. Is this a problem?
At about 8:00 this morning I sat down to share some thoughts with you in a blog that will now be written later. My computer has had some signal issues on its network, and I had purchased a fancy new gadget that was supposed to solve the problem. The box, from Hawking Technology told me my new toy would install in minutes! Great! I'm working late tonight, so I'll take a few minutes on the home front to do my "quick, easy installation" then get on with my day.
Does it ever actually work like that? First of all, I should know by now that anything that involves IP addresses, subnet masks, and WEP encryption will only frustrate in minutes...not install.
Secondly, my weak signal problem apparently applies to my new range extender as well as to the rest of my network. Despite my religious following of all their troubleshooting tips, I keep going from a weak signal, to no signal, to can't find device in an endless loop of Silicone Valley Hell!

The only thing I've accomplished in the nearly 2 and a half hours I've been fighting this battle is aerobic exercise. I lost count of how many times I went up and down the stairs about ninety minutes ago.
So the morning is now half gone. I'm going to arrive at the office much later than I had intended, and my stupid network at home still doesn't work right. There is simply nothing simple involved in anything that has an IP address.
I'll say it again:
I work in a computer oriented field, but, quite often, I HATE computers. Is this a problem?
- It rocks!
- Its just stupid.
- Its SPAM.
- Its offensive.
- Nevermind.
