Where Would You Want to be If a Tornado Hits?

A conversation overheard amidst the din of tornado sirens this afternoon: Where would you most want to be during a tornado if a basement wasn't readily available?

  • In a windowless hallway on the first floor of a sturdy building.
  • Deep inside a big parking garage. (The choice of many smokers here this afternoon despite basement availability.)
  • Under your desk.
  • Away from the windows in the first floor tavern of your office building.

I'm sure all of these ideas have been utilized in the last few hours as storms have rolled through. Do you have any favorites?
