Experience Extreme Ice Racing This Saturday

This Saturday, you have a chance to experience a whole different kind of racing: Extreme Ice Racing. "What the heck is Extreme Ice Racing?" you might ask? Lucky for you, I now know exactly what that is.

Speedway bikes and quads are modified to compete on an indoor ice arena. Over 2,000 metal studs are added to those 4-wheelers and bikes to make them able to grip the slick ice. These competitors go from zero to 60 miles per hour in a mere three seconds, and there are no brakes. They claim that the power to weight ratio (90 horse power on a 180-pound bike) is too crazy to even explain.

Now that you're intrigued, I bet you're glad that you'll have a chance to see some ice racing for yourself this Saturday at St. Charles Family Arena when they kick off their international tour. The XIIR fun all starts at 7:30 p.m. Head here for ticket information, and bring the kids because their tickets are only $6.

To be introduced to Anthony "The British Bulldog" Barlow and James "Demolition Man" Mann, and to see how I handled my time on the ice, click on the Featured Video tab. See you there!
