When Emily Riesen stopped by the ToastedRav studio, we were excited to hear the first song she ever wrote, "My Heart's in St. Louis." She's bubbly and fun, and let me tell you, her voice is way bigger than she is.

Emily got her start close by in Warsaw, Illinois, but moved to Nashville a few months ago to pursue her dream of becoming a country artist. She often plays nearby, so if you'd like to catch a show, including one on December 5 in Cape Girardeau, click here. All you should need to know to appreciate her music is that she writes her own music from personal experiences, can actually play her own instruments, has a Jack Daniel's guitar and recently opened for Cross Canadian Ragweed. She's incredibly passionate about country music and her roots as a small town girl on a farm.
