Paula Abdul is reportedly unhappy with the way the video for "Dance Like There's No Tomorrow" turned out. A source is quoted as saying that Paula doesn't necessarily think that it's "Heidi Montag bad, but she's still trying to pretend like it didn't happen." The same source says that the AI judge is trying to keep her negative reaction under wraps because Randy Jackson was involved.
I'm not worried about hurting Randy Jackson's feelings, so I'll just say it - the video ain't great. It's not HORRIFIC, mind you, but there's a definite, unnecessary layer of cheese on the whole thing. Had they stuck to the song and the dance moves - which, as far as pop videos go, are fairly solid - they'd have been fine. But when Randy Jackson moves in for a little bump-n-grind on Paula, I actually physically recoiled in horror.
The American Idol press photo at the end is the final nail in the video coffin. I'm not sure who thought that would be a really good idea, but it certainly misses whatever mark they were aiming for.
