BBC's Planet Earth is an extraordinary documentary series that presents the world of nature beautifully. Released in 2006, Planet Earth is narrated by David Attenborough although I believe Signourney Weaver was rumored to narrate the US release.
It is an eleven part series that covers the planet in a unique fashion taking you pole to pole, to deserts, caves, plains, mountains, forests, and jungles. It is a broad overview of the life on earth, not a highly detailed documentary. The narration is just the icing on the cake as the film captures the imagination with beautiful images.
I highly recommend this video for anyone...and I also think it would be great curriculum in our schools. Winning 4 Daytime Emmy's, 9 other awards, and 12 nominations, it is truly a masterpiece. This film took 40 film crews over 5 years to document this story in over 200 locations on the planet. The price tag on this masterpiece is a whopping 10 million bucks.
I have just begun to watch this with my parents on Sundays after we get to together for dinner. I would like to know if they ever plan to continue Planet Earth, as I think they should. I look forward to it and I know these 11 weeks will be short lived even though this is my second run through (with the sweet addition of my parents HD TV!) There seems to be more t
You never know...if world doesn't take action to preserve the planets beauty, video may be the only thing left to see. So see it, it will change the way you see mankind as well. It is a wonderful collection to have.
