"The reign of terror is almost over."  That was the line ToastedRav.com contributor Melody Cissell attached to this article in a Twitter post, which predicts doom for Crocs, the plastic shoes fashionistas love to hate. (Sales are down 47%!)

I must admit being firmly entrenched in the camp of those who find Crocs to be one of the ugliest forms of footwear ever to darken a carpet or sidewalk.  I despised everything about them....until my son started walking.

The little man has been on his feet for about a year and a half now, and Crocs have been a big part of his toddling journey.  They're easy to put on.  They don't easily fall off.  He loves them.  Enough said.  If you're a parent, that's enough to make you fan.  There are enough battles to fight with a toddler.  If the shoe battle can be won for you, you've achieved great success.

I still refuse to wear Crocs myself, and I can't say that I'll miss seeing grown ups strolling down the avenue with pink plastic on their tootsies. But there is a warm place in my heart for their kids division.  I hope, even pray, that the children's sizes survive.
