We're all tired of high gas prices. We're all tired of sending our money to big oil companies and the Middle East. We're all in search of a solution.
Up to now, the best hope was a hybrid, but that may be on the verge of changing as soon as next summer.
A report in Business Week magazine says a new, fully electric, version of BMW's Mini Cooper could be on the market in the United States as soon as next year.
Of course there are countless questions: how fast will it go? How long do you have to charge it? How far will it go on a charge? How much will it cost? Where will you be able to buy it?
None of those doosies have been answered as of yet. The biggest question for us is whether something as cutting edge as this will be available in the St. Louis market the first time around.
Being that it's a BMW, it will probably run well, and that will likely translate to heavy demand. All that said, we may have to wait a bit longer. (You know New York and LA will get them first)
It's certainly worth staying tuned to see how this show plays out!
