Someone just sent me a smart alack message on Twitter that ended with, "J/K!" Due to the fact that I'm in my late 30's and reside quite a distance from the cutting edge of text-form communication, I had no idea what it meant.
This happens to me quite often when texting shorthand is used in conversation. I finally figured out that LOL isn't an abbreviated reference to LOLlypop, but I still need more info!
Well, the web giveth as much as it taketh away! The site NetLingo.com has come to my rescue! They have a list of every acronym you can think of (and some you wish you hadn't) on the site. It's a great way to decipher stuff you don't understand, or encode things you'd like to make challenging for others!
One note: the content of this list contains the good, the bad, and the ugly, of this newly formed language. Just like the dictionary, there are some words you wouldn't want you children repeating.
NE, IMO, this VWD site is something we all Ne2H! NESEC the entire English language replaced with this. OTOH, WC? It's only communication!
