The bidding war is on to see which of your favorite "I'm a Narcissistic Rock Star," video games will allow you to jam with the Beatles.

London's Financial Times reports reps for the Beatles have launched discussions with the makers of both "Guitar Hero" and "Rock Star" simultaneously.  (Certainly in an effort to jack up the price) The final deal will be worth several million dollars according to the report.

The hang up in all this could be the companies that control the licensing to the Beatles catalog. (Notably Apple Corps which is run by surviving members and heirs) If you surf around the web, you won't find any Beatles material available. (at least not legally)  Paul, Ringo, Yoko, and the rest have been glacially slow in doling out rights for digital use of the music.  You can't even get it on I-Tunes!

It's being speculated that the video game deal, which could be done in a matter of weeks, might be a precursor to the "Fab Four" entering the 21st century.  (I wonder if McCartney has a cell phone yet....)

Which game would you like to see land the band?

What do you think?
