The Missouri Department of Social Services has released proposed changes to the licensing requirements of Missouri's day care centers.  The current licensing requirements have been in place for 20 years.  What does this mean?  Well, the proposed changes would mean more training, more stringent background checks and updated safety regulations.  Could also mean your tuition rates will go up.  Raising child care worker ratios means more employees and a higher cost to the child care provider.

Missouri is currently ranked 44th nationally for its child care safety and performance standards by the National Association of Child Care Resourse and Referral Agencies.  Illinois is ranked 8th in that same report.
