He loved being outside as well as inside. He was SO loving and the ONLY cat my husband has ever liked!! He feels responsible because he let Bingo out that fateful Saturday morning along with Sammy our C@cker Spaniel. When I got up, Sammy soon came to the door wanting in. But I knew right away something was wrong. Sammy was shaking and salivating heavily. HE NEVER DOES THIS!!! He was terrified. A little while later, I saw him jump onto the chair by the back door (a sliding glass door) and look out. He again started shaking and salivating, scared again. I looked to see what he was looking at and there was a coyote not 10 feet from our back door.
It was then I started really getting worried about Bingo. I had called for him earlier when I let Sammy in, but it had no effect.
I opened the door and chased the coyote away. About a half an hour later when we still had not seen or heard anything from Bingo we went looking for him. We looked and called ALL day long and into the night.
Bingo was gone for good. And I'm the one that did it to him. I'm just as guilty as that coyote was. We never found any sign of Bingo or his collar.
Sammy was absolutely terrified when he came in and NOTHING scared him. And when that coyote came to the back door, Sammy would have normally barked his head off wanting to go through the door after him. But we now know that Sammy probably witnessed what happend to his little brother Bingo which is why he was so terrified. He looked for Bingo for weeks before finally accepting that he wasn't coming home.
You see, because I had Bingo declawed, he had no protection against this predator and couldn't even climb a tree to get away from it.
Don't let this happen to your baby.
