Toby Keith was drunk and obnoxious last night

I was disappointed by his lewd remarks and drunken behavior. It was obvious he was intoxicated and if I wasn't there with my family I wouldn't have cared. This was the first country concert that I felt was inappropriate to have my kids at. He mentioned sex, weed and drinking with every song. He is a great performer and should know better. Performing for troops and performing infront of familys are 2 different types of crowds.

  • I went to the Toby Keith and I had 3rd row seats. I really dont think that he was drunk. He is a good performer and the concert Friday night was great!!!
  • I have gone to Toby's show the last 4 years. It has never been kid friendly. That did not surprise me. It has also never been a bad show like this year, so what I was surprised at were the points in the show when he lost his place in the show, forgot lyrics, checked his cell phone, etc. I am not sure about the drunk part, but something was off. I thought maybe sick or just tired because he was down to the last weekend of the tour. He is the "bad boy" or "rebel" of country music, so why anyone would think it is a kid friendly show is beyond me. it never has been, and probably never will be.
  • Toby was ON FIRE and giving his all! Playing with the audience and acknowledging people all across the venue. When you said he was checking his cell phone...I think it was him checking his monitor that he wears on his hip...not a cell phone. Drunk? Don't think so. I had a meet & greet with Toby not even 10 minutes before he took the stage and that boy would have had to drink several bottles in that 10 minutes to get drunk. As for forgetting his place in the songs...sometimes I wonder how he can play with the crowd, read the sings and acknowledge them and remember the words to his songs. I'd rather have a "real person" up there with a show like Toby's than a tightly orchestrated production that is rote and stale. Toby is professional but still loose enough to be FUN!!! As for the first poster who found the lyrics of Toby's songs to be lewd...haven't you ever heard the man's songs? Or COUNTRY music in general? Yep, he sings about adult topics...in concert and on his CD's AND on the radio!
