ArtLink Explained & A Big Party Tonight

ArtLink is an organization that was started in 2006 to connect the disparate "Young Friends" groups supporting various artistic and cultural institutions around St. Louis.  The non-profit organization is an extension the existing "Young Friends" programs at The Contemporary Art Museum, Laumeire Sculpture Park, COCA, and The Foundry Art Center that offers members discount programs and invitations to networking events throughout the year.

Tonight ArtLink is teaming up Keystone of St. Louis to throw a party at The Contemporary Art Museum for members and non-members alike.  The event will feature visual and musical arts (everything from hip-hop to print making) and only $30 gets you in the door from 7pm until 11pm.  To sweeten your admission gets you beer, wine soda, and hors d'ouevres all night as well.  One of the perks of ArtLink membership is the chance to purchase tickets to the event at a nicely discounted rate.  There will be a lot of young, hip, artistically minded folks there and the event offers you a lot to do, see, eat, and drink all night so tonight would be a good opportunity to learn more about this group and what they are all about.  There will even be a live DJ (very television like New York art opening, eh?).

After doing some research into the organization and event for this story I actually decided to joined (or as they said in my confirmation "got ArtLinked") because it is an inexpensive way for me and my Mister to support four different institutions that I like to visit.  Membership for ArtLink is only $20/year, and outside of the parties and events it seems like a great opportunity to meet other "youngsters" around the Lou also interested in supporting art and culture.
