It was seventy-five years ago this month that President Franklin Roosevelt signed legislation that may have saved St. Louis as we know it today.
The re-defining of an intoxicating beverage was the first step toward putting a full end to prohibition. That, in turn, allowed Anheuser-Busch to return to what it does best: making beer.
But for thirteen years, the brewery had to find ways to make ends meet without selling alcohol. Click the video tab above for a look at some of what they were doing at A-B to keep their collective head above water.
