OK, I know the actual name of the show is "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," but it's become just "Leno" hasn't it? I wonder if I'll start calling it "O'Brien?"
Jay Leno has hosted the late-night staple for 17 years and it ends this Friday, May 29th. Leno's final week began last night with guests Mel Gibson (calling himself Octodad because he announced his girlfriend is having his 8th child) and Lyle Lovett. Tonight, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger will log his 25th appearance on "The Tonight Show," while Dwight Yoakam does the music. Wednesday night's guest lineup will include comedienne Wanda Sykes and singer Sarah McLachlan (I touched her once). Billy Crystal and Prince are scheduled to appear on Thursday's show. Leno's final hosting duty on Friday will include a chat with his successor, former "Late Night" host Conan O'Brien. James Taylor will sing Friday.
Beginning this fall, Jay will helm his own primetime talk show, tentatively titled "The Jay Leno Show." Brilliant name, eh?
