How would you spend almost 10B dollars? Missouri Governor Jay Nixon has a few ideas, but is asking for more.  On Monday Nixon launched a website to solicit ideas from Missourians on how we should spend the stimulus dollars that are expected to be headed this way.  Nixon says on the site, Transform Missouri, the state needs to be ready to spend that cash:

...we will invest these federal resources in three broad areas: developing our human capital; enhancing our information and transportation infrastructure; and embracing emerging technologies. To get this important process, we need to hear from you

If you had ten billion dollars, how would you spend it? Chad Garrison from the Riverfront Time says he has submitted two proposals [via the Riverfront Times' STLOG]:

I can't wait for the governor to green-light the two proposals I submitted. The first calls for a gigantic swimming hole in St. Louis. The second would add a kick-[naughty language removed] new tourist attraction to the St. Louis riverfront.

You can submit proposals through the Governor's site and also float your own ideas on how we should be tossing those Benjamins around the Show-Me State.  There were more than 1,000 proposals submitted as of Thursday morning and I am dying to see where the fine folks of our state think the money should be spent. You've got until July 1 to weigh in through the site.

What do you think?
