The first question you typically ask a fellow St. Louisan is "Where did you go to high school?" I don't know about you, but the first thing I think of about my time in high school is the sports. So for all of you who wish to keep tabs on what's happening athletically in your old stomping grounds, here's a wrap up:

  • Lafayette swimmer Jessi Holz (see pic) preps for the state meet by winning the 100-freestyle at the Parkway South Invitational.
  • Tyler Carney, a Granite City senior, finished second in the 171-pound division at the Geneseo Tournament last weekend. He's one victory away from his third 30-win season.
  • SLUH won 58-45 against St. Mary's in a recent boys basketball game, which was closer than the Jr. Bills would have liked. Senior guard Matt Lynch racked up a team-high 17 points.
  • In girls basketball news, 5-10 Brittany Casey helped lead Lindbergh to a 50-39 win over Mehlville. (Plus, the Suburban Journal makes a really corny joke about crap.)
