This morning, I received one of the greatest gifts a girl could ever ask for...the sponsorship of two rescue ponies named Poppy and Sage at the Longmeadow Rescue Ranch, a part of the Missouri Humane Society. When I opened up the neatly arranged envelope lying on my desk as I sat down, childhood memories came over me, as I opened up to see the two most precious ponies...who are being sponsored as a gift to me. As a little girl, ponies and horses we a constant interest, and the case still rests today as I teared up looking at my two new friends. Aren't they the cutest ponies you have ever seen?

Longmeadow Rescue RanchLongmeadow Rescue Ranch and the Humane Society of Missouri have taken in and cared for animals in need all over the area, and seek to find them forever homes. I am so excited to be able to visit my new friends, thanks to the Barn Buddy program. By visiting their website, you can find all kinds of cute and cuddly animals to sponsor.  I guarantee that this will warm hearts and ensure forever friends, and is a great expression as a gift or thank you. Poppy is a 2 year old, white Miniature Horse and Sage is a 4 year old, dun-colored Miniature Horse.

Poppy and Sage's Story
Poppy and Sage came to Longmeadow Rescue Ranch from Tennessee where they were rescued with hundreds of dogs and other animals that were not being properly cared for. Miniature horses have happened as a result of selective breeding. They are very cute and inviting but, because of their small size, sometimes they have health problems like protruding eyes that are easily injured, and hoof and knee problems because their short legs carry so much body weight.

Humane Society of MissouriThank you, Humane Society of Missouri and Longmeadow Rescue Ranch for giving me a childhood dream I never had...two new friends...my little ponies!

Poppy & Sage - I can't wait to meet you!
