Art the Vote is an unprecedented arts-driven effort to motivate register and turn out voters through the works of eight contemporary artists in Missouri. These artists have completed original pieces focused on current issues facing our state, nation, and planet on an unusual medium...a billboard.
By using Missouri's highways as a gallery, Art the Vote hopes to encourage voter registration in the upcoming elections. It is a nonpartisan, arts-driven effort to engage, register and mobilize young voters and the creative community in the political process prior to the November 2008 election.
The winner of the vote was Karen Kay whose design will be seen early September through early November along Missouri's Highways. Click here to find out where. Art the Vote received 10,000 votes on their website, and 8 artists were chosen to unveil their work at the Grand Center this Friday, September 5th.

Art the Vote is an initiative of the Missouri Billboard Project, a political organization registered with the I.R.S. and organized to encourage likely and potential voters to vote by supporting creation of art that draws attention to public policy issues.
