If you planned to see Robert Plant and Allison Kraus next week at the Fox, you'll have to wait until September. But in return, you'll get to be a small part of something left to posterity.
The project undertaken by these two divergent music legends has absolutely exploded. Now, on top of the CD and the widely popular tour, there will be a concert DVD shot over two days here in St. Louis.
I can't imagine a cooler backdrop for something like this than the Fox. It should be a spectacular time.
As for Plant and Kraus, the collaboration is fascinating. Of course you know Led Zeppelin and the basic history on Robert Plant. Allison Kraus is not someone who's name everyone will recognize on first mention, but for those who follow bluegrass music, she's nothing short of an icon. I was never a big bluegrass fan, but the opportunity to watch Kraus, and her band Union Station perform will do the trick for most inside of one night.
The pairing of the two seems a little bizarre, but the sound that results makes you want to hop into an old convertible and take a ride down Route 66.
This concert should be well worth the wait. The new dates are September 24th and 25th. You can click here for more details.
By the way, if you'd like to hear from Kraus and Plant about their collaboration, and hear some of the music, click on the video tab above! Update: I've added a second video under the video tab that shows they can rock some of the old Zeppelin stuff in a unique way, too!
- It rocks!
- Its just stupid.
- Its SPAM.
- Its offensive.
- Nevermind.
