It's that time again.  School has started.  It is very important to keep your teen prepared for school.  Here are some tips to make sure they are on top of it and ready for school.

  • Eat Breakfast!!! When they eat a good breakfast they are ready and alert.
  • Get enough sleep. Experts say teens should get at least 8 ½ hours of sleep a night. They will be able to concentrate better and not fall asleep in class. Studies show teens that get a good night's sleep do better on tests than teens that stay up late cramming.
  • Do school work at school. If there is time during the day your teen should use it to get some work done. The more they get done at school the less they will have to do at home. They could actually get out and do something fun.
  • Get involved. This is very important. Your teen should find an extracurricular activity. This could be a club, sport or anything that will get them involved. If they don't want to join something then they could stay after school and watch a sport or a play.

All of these things are important for your teen.  If they try these things they will do better in school and have a better time.
