I'm heading out the door to see an attempt at reclaiming the past.  We all know the Central West End and the Delmar Loop, but what about Gaslight Square?

As a new guy in town, this was news to me, but Gaslight Square was once one of the hottest entertainment districts in the country!  In the 1950's and '60's they supposedly had it all there.
Check out Johnny Rabbit back in the day kicking it up at the "Playboy Club" in town.

Unfortunately, as was the case with a lot of great urban districts in cities all over the country, everything went down the tubes in the late '60's and 70's.  Gaslight Square was left in near ruin.

These days, a guy named William Roth is trying to revitalize the area.  He has his marketing business there, and has purchased and restored the old Gaslight theater.  On top of that, he's the founder of the St. Louis Actors' studio which performs there.  We'll be shooting a video story about the area and the theater that will pop up next week.  Keep an eye out for it!
