She's Crafty: The Strange Folk Festival

There lies a magical forest within the Community Park in O'Fallon, IL, where this weekend, September 27th and 28th, crafters and artisans from across the country will appear with glorious modern handmade goodness for all to see. This forest is also known as the Strange Folk Festival, the Heartland's largest outdoor indie arts and crafts show.

This isn't your grandma's craft show. The third annual event will offer wares from 120 vendors pooling in from across the country with their urban, punky, and even pretty one-of-a-kind creations. Personal favorites from the 2008 vendor list include locals Cranky Yellow (Independent publishers of art, music, and literature), Glitter Fly (Uses recycled materials to create gorgeous garments for the gals), and Jart (Wood works from the heart).

Strange Folk Totes

On Saturday, the first 100 people to present a vendor purchase to the Strange Folk info table will receive a Strange Folk re-usable tote filled with crafty goodness. So, get there early and prepare to shop! Visit Strange Folk's website for more information, including maps to the location, vendor details, and lists of activites and music at the event.

Oh, and don't forget to stop by tent #267 and say hello! I will be there selling goodies from my shop, TwIsTeD.
