Color Me Crabby

Not every day at the office is going to be rainbows and sunshine. But, if you realize that you're continually getting mad when you have no reason to, it could be more to do with what you bought at the mall, and less about who stole your stapler.

If you look down at your outfit today and realize that you're wearing a lovely red blouse, it could actually be to blame for your crabbiness. Although considered to be a vibrant, warm color, it's also the color of your face when you go into a rage because someone ate your lunch from the office fridge. Speaking of fridges, red is also a color that greatly increases your appetite, which might explain why you're pants are feeling a bit tight right now.

Another color that might make you a Debbie Downer is black. Although known for it's remarkable ability to make you appear slim and trim, the black jacket you're wearing might be the reason you have such a doom and gloom outlook on life today (hence the expression black mood, which is not a compliment). Black is also the color that absorbs the most heat, so if you're feeling stuffy and flushed, your black attire could be a factor.

So, rather than just throwing something from your closet on, take the safety and happiness of your poor co-workers into account each morning when you're planning your outfit.

Blue is a color that you should try to use in your attire if you want to feel clean, confident and peaceful. Try out Nine West's Sleeveless Belted Shirtdress at Macy's. It's also 60% off right now, so even buying it will make you smile.

Along the same lines, wearing the color green is thought to be soothing and have great healing powers. It is also associated with nature, so whether you're picturing a breezy forrest or fresh-cut grass, going green can help renew you for a busy day at work. For a fun and easy way to incorporate green into your wardrobe, try this jade-colored pleated satchel by GUESS by Marciano.

Whether you're working or playing, or even playing at work, there's no excuse for a meltdown. Now that you know what colors will make you scowl and what colors will make you smile, dress for your mood.
