I'm back from vacation & ready to educate!  On tonight's School of Rock, we have a bit of a Literature lesson.

Wild Boys by Duran Duran was a huge hit in 1984 & was based on a 1971 William Burroughs novel of the same name.  In the book, packs of teenagers ravage the Earth.  The battle then moves underground & the Wild Boys are created.

At the time, the video for Wild Boys was the most expensive ever made.  In fact, the band wrote the song specifically for the video, thinking about what it would look like as they wrote it.

There you have it, a hit song based on modern literature...how cultured!

Tune in for another session of Simon Archer's School of Rock, weeknights at 8 on 106.5 the Arch.
