When 109 animals were rescued from a puppy mill in southwest Missouri over a month ago, they had to be nursed back to health before people could start adopting them . After weeks of hard work, the Humane Society has deemed them ready for new families, and the opportunity to adopt them starts today. There is an open house at the society headquarters (1201 Macklind Avenue) today if you want to check out the puppies in person, otherwise, applications for your future best friend are due Sunday, March 29 at 5 p.m.
Pug, Shih Tzu, Poodle, Westie, Brussels Griffon, Lhasa Apso, Cocker Spaniel, Shar Pei, Ora Pei, Husky, Boston Terrier, Pekingese, Chow, Schnauzer, miniature Pincher, Chihuahua, Dachshund and Pomeranians breeds are all available for adoption.
