It is the crowning moment for cheerleaders and football players and the epitome of awkward high school for others - prom night is approaching for many St. Louis students. This year students at one of St. Louis' premiere private high schools, John Burroughs School, are all going to have a night in hell according to STLtoday.com

The junior class, which hosts the prom, voted for the Seven Deadly Sins as its theme. The invitations calling all "sinners" and beckoning them to "hell" went out about three weeks ago. The invitations feature illustrations of the various deadly sins (the one for lust has a buxom woman in a long red dress) and a fiery pentagram. It states: "Let the Sin Begin."

School officials have commented that the party is intended to be against the "impulse to celebrate wealth." I can only assume this means that the dinner ware is only silver-plated and that their yearly theme must be intended to illustrate what life is like for people who aren't listed on a Forbes wealthiest list. You can probably assume that since they want students get the true experience of what it is like at the average teenage party the evening will probably only have one celebrity appearance and students are being asked to drive cars that are valued the same as the average 401k account balance. It truly will be a night in hell for all who attend.
