If you've lived in the St. Louis area any length of time, you've probably heard of the Kimmswick Strawberry Festival or the Kimmswick Apple Butter Festival.  Both draw thousands of tourists to this sleepy little burg along the Mississippi every Spring and Fall.  But in-between those times, it sees considerably less traffic.  None the less, it's a great place to get away from the city this Spring and enjoy some shopping and a great meal at one of our past Cornbread Free Breakfast Friday stops...the Blue Owl Restaurant!  Some might even consider this time of year the best time since it's much less crowded and you can actually walk through the shops without getting squished!

The Cornbread Show Free Breakfast Friday Video from The Blue Owl

The James clan recently had family in town, so we decided to show off this cool river town.  While the ladies shopped, I grabbed my camera and shot photos of some of the sites  and buildings that make Kimmswick so unique to the St. Louis area.  You can see the photos on my website here.

So next time you want to get out of the house but you don't want to waste a bunch of gas doing it, drop by Kimmswick!  You won't get out of town without eating an apple pie as big as your head, I guarantee that...
