According to this article, the crime stats from the mayhem of Mardi Gras weekend are officially in. Here are a few highlights of the tickets that the men and women in blue dealt out:

• 68 MIPs (minor in possession of alcohol)
• Two Resisting Arrests
• Four DUIs
• 12 False Identifications
• 34 Parking Tickets
• One 3rd Degree Assault (a man got into a fight with a friend and punched him)
• And my personal favorite, 17 tickets for Public Urination

I have to say, considering the incredible number of people who partied downtown last Saturday (and the gallons of adult beverages they were consuming), I think these numbers were actually pretty low. The cops must have been pretty lenient this year.
