  • Yes we are cutting back. We dumped Cable & went to Dish about $40 cheaper. We stay home more. Clipping coupons. Watch the mail some of restauraunts are giving buy one get one free meals.
Thats how we get our evenings out.
  • We're cutting back on buying lunch , brown baggin it...reusing
items...and Sav A lot has some great buys also...
  • We are doing the same! We called around and even though we have Dish now, when I called them to find out about better packages and that we may be leaving, they offered us MAX for a year for 1 penny. So, that was a plus! We eat at home more unless there are GOOD coupons. Plus those leftovers and still good! They get reheated and turned into other dishes. Nothing goes to waste. If there is some small amount of food that no one really is going to eat, it goes to the dogs or chickens. They sure don't mind the extra food, and in these lean times, they like it better than their generic brand dogfood! It may not be "Good For Them", but it's food and I'm sure not gonna waste it!!!!
  • I am in nursing school, so I am at school during lunch time 5 days a week. Instead of buying lunch in the cafeteria I am bringing my lunch from home. I am also spending a lot more time at home or if I go out I try to car pool with one of family members (usually my mom) to save on gas money.
  • In order for me to save money I rose the amount of my health insurance deductable. I didn't need such a low amount since I don't go to the Dr. that often. Doing that is saving me $400 a year! My car insurance also dropped $20/month with having homeowners insurance through the same company, being accident free, and multiple drivers on the account! Being a good driver really does help you save money!!!
  • I have been cutting back alot too!I do shop at Shop-n-Save, but they have a gas station at mine, and if you buy a certain amount of food, money wise, you get money off at the pump; example....$100 groceries is .09 of gas a gallon! The pennies add up over time, and I am spending on average now 25-30 bux a week in gas, instead of 50!
  • We've obviously cutback since we lost our job 3 weeks before Christmas. At this point, we're just trying to hang on.
  • boy, saving money is awfully hard for me, I am in the process of moving out, trying to find a decent place to stay, for a decent price. cut back on my eating out, and am learning that ramen noodles really aren't that bad. I don't drink soda, So I drink alot of water, which is better for you anyways. turned down the heater a couple degrees, energy effenciency lightbulbs, I am learing that generic food tastes just about the same as the other name brands. just a little cheeper. They may not be fancy, but they get the job done!
