Believe it or not, today could be your day to broaden your horizons. As weird as it sounds, there are so many culturally enlightening and self-enriching opportunities out there for you this evening, you shouldn't hit the sack tonight without knowing something new. Behold - what St. Louis is offering you this evening:

  • Wine 101, Intro to Wines Class - Head on over to Grapevine Wines and Cheese for a class starts at the beginning and stays simple. You'll taste a wide variety of popular varietals (grapes) and discuss wine tasting, wine making, food pairing, wine storage and more. What a way to teach your taste buds.
  • Vegetarian Society Meeting - If you've been thinking about nixing meat in your daily diet, perhaps you should attend this group's January meeting. The meeting's organizer is serving up some vegetarian chili, but just make sure you call and RSVP first.
  • Foreign Language - Spend two days immersed in French, German, Japanese or Spanish with University of Missouri, St. Louis faculty. Activities may include watching and discussing a film, cooking an ethnic dish and playing games. However, a working knowledge of the language is required. Do you remember those Spanish phrases you learned in high school?
  • iMovie and iDVD Workshop - If you know nothing about these applications (i.e. me), the Apple Store is offering a class at 3 p.m. today. You'll "Discover new ways to store, organize and browse your videos, as well as the fastest way ever to create amazing home movies to share with everyone in your life." Sign up in advance or just stop by.
  • Salsa Dancing Class - Carmen at Club Vida will be teaching you to salsa. Men have to pay a $5 cover, but all you dancing ladies out there are in for free. You'll be learning to appreciate a culture different from your own while toning your tush at the same time.
