Looking For a Job This Season? Santa is Hiring!

Imagine my disappointment when I realized that the "St. Nicholas Technical Academy" that the Missouri Lottery commercials advertised was, in fact, nonexistent. Either way, it got me thinking; if someone was looking for a little seasonal employment before Christmas, are there employment opportunities for mall Santa wannabes in The Lou?

It turns out that one of the largest Santa suppliers in America is right here in St. Louis. Santa Plus provides more than 1,500 Santas for over 400 malls. If you'd like to apply for a job, click here. Real Bearded Santas are in particularly high demand, so if your facial hair resembles Mr. Kringle's, you just might be in luck.

And just in case you don't want the full-on pressure of working as the Big Guy, there are also positions available in St. Louis for the part of Santa's Helper. I can't say that I know what exactly the role of Santa's Helper entails, but according to Kringle Enterprises, they're "looking for someone who is great with kids, has experience in the toy-making industry and isn't frightened by hairy, flying mammals." And you might have to "Aacompany Mr. Kringle to shopping malls and perform crowd control on hyperactive and/or frightened children." (This job is a joke, but there really is cash involved.)
