Keep Boredom At Bay With Board Games

This time of year, things can become monotonous, as we travel from enclosed space to enclosed space, escaping the cold weather. Driven indoors, TV series, books, internets, and holiday functions seem the common remedy, but what is there to do once bored with that? Board games have been calling my name and I have been looking something else to bring to the table.

Board games are not necessarily fresh, but are classic fun and break away from the current norm of online gaming, console gaming, television, and movies. When kicking it with buddies, games are a great way to keep the energy of the party going, too. I have been digging up and thinking of my old favorites to take along to my next rendezvous with friends, and I keep coming back to the classics. (Games are fun - sometimes more fun when you add your own spin.)

Balderdash - The ultimate game for bluffing about words and finding out who is the best liar.

Clue - Find out who you really trust in the library, with a candlestick, and Colonel Mustard.

Scattergories - The game to figure out what your buddies are really thinking about.

Cranium - For those who fully animate and subject themselves for the sake of entertainment.

These are only to name a few of my favorites, but I would like to know what else is out there that I could be missing. What are your all time favorites?
