And I do mean THE HOUSE! According to Billboard.com, the suits at Dr Pepper are preparing to make good on their promise to provide a free Dr Pepper to everyone in America. The offer hinges on Guns N' Roses releasing "Chinese Democracy" by the end of 2008. Tony Jacobs is Dr Pepper VP of marketing, a GNR fan, and says, "We're waiting to hear about 'Chinese Democracy' just like all the GNR fans. If the rumore are true, we're putting Dr Pepper on ice." The album has a November 23rd release date. I'll believe it when I see it. Recording for the album began back in 1994! But due to numerous personnel changes, Axl Rose has taken his sweet time finishing the project. He missed a $1 million bonus from Geffen because he couldn't finish "Chinese Democracy" by March 1, 1999. During the 2000's, leaks from the album have popped up on the internet. One of the songs leaked is "Catcher in the Rye" and features Queen's Brian May on guitar. Brian confirmed on his blog that he had recorded a demo of the song in 1999. Every GNR fan I know is anticipating a brilliant rock album, but, like I said before, I'll believe it when I see it. If I DO see it, I'll toast it with a Dr Pepper!
