The writer's strike is finally over.  Unfortunately, many writers are finding that now that they can go back to work, they have no job to return to.  It's not quite as simple as Michael Eisner's initial statement led everyone to believe.  Many popular shows will wind up with significantly shorter seasons as they try to recover some of the momentum that they've lost during the strike.  Then, there are the shows who won't survive because of the money and effort that will have to be poured into established ratings stars.   Network newcomers Cashmere Mafia and Lipstick Jungle are both reportedly some of the first to get the axe.

And they aren't alone.  Below is a list of shows that are said to be on the fast track to cancellation:

ABC
Women's Murder Club
Carpoolers
Big Shots
Notes from the Underbelly
Cavemen

NBC
Friday Night Lights
Bionic Woman
Life
Las Vegas

CBS
Moonlight
Cane

The CW
Reaper
Life is Wild
The Game
Girlfriends

(Fans of Friday Night Lights have begun sending lightbulbs to network offices in an effort to save it.  This particular ploy worked when fans of Jericho sent bags and bags of peanuts.   The show is returning for a new season.)
