The clock is ticking.  You're probably heading to the grocery tonight or tomorrow to gather up the goods for a string of barbecues this holiday weekend.  So the question is, what is the best stuff to get?

Consumer Reports magazine rates a lot of this stuff, and they give St. Louis its "props" right out of the chutes.  Despite the encroaching Belgian hordes, the magazine rates Michelob Ultra Amber (from good ole' A-B)as the best of the light beer brews available for your picnic.

And what will you be washing down with your tasty St. Louis beverage?  Well, sometimes you have to go with the classic.  The ratings suggest the old Lays Classic Potato Chip is still numero uno in quality.  Tostitos top the corn chip list.

As for the good ole' hot dog, you might be surprised.  None was rated excellent, and our friend Oscar Meyer was way down the list!  The best of the bunch in the very good category were Hebrew National and Nathans.  (Both Beef)  Boar's Head light beef franks are also supposed to be pretty good if you're watching your figure.

What else will you be taking to your barbecue?  Do you agree with the Consumer Reports quality ratings?  Chime in!

What do you think?
