11:02pm – Bernie opens the show with his Bullet Points. Bernie says that 2 voters didn’t cost Carpenter or Wainwright the Cy Young award. He discusses how writers around the country voted and how any combination of people could’ve had Carpenter or Wainwright in second or first place instead of third place. It is bogus to blame everything on Keith Law or Will Carroll. 11:22pm – Mizzou Athletic Director Mike Alden joins the show and talks about how great it is for Mizzou to have the recent success with the football program. Alden says they will always try to have at least 1 BCS opponent in their non-conference schedule. Mizzou plays Illinois one more time before a hiatus, but Mike says they will want to bring back that series in a couple of years.
11:42pm – Bernie doesn’t like how people are blaming Kyle McClellan for Adam Wainwright not getting his 20th win. He says people need to remember how the game was handled that night, and he also says there were other opportunities for Wainwright to win a game earlier in the season. 12:02pm – Bernie says he thinks it’s safe to say Albert Pujols will win the MVP award Tuesday. The writers don’t hate the Cardinals or St. Louis because Carpenter or Wainwright didn’t win the Cy Young. Wainwright was named on all 32 ballots so there isn’t a sign of anti-St. Louis bias. Tom Casey joins in with some conversation on the Blues last night. Alex Pietrangelo has played his 9th game so now the team has to decide if they will keep him or not. 12:22pm – Bernie discusses the San Francisco writers who didn’t vote Tim Lincecum first on their ballots, and he talks about Will Carroll. Bernie has no doubt about Carroll’s sincerity with his ballot, but he disagrees with putting Dan Haren on the ballot. 12:42pm – Cardinals insider Joe Strauss says he doesn’t like how some voters say they are absolutely right and thinks everyone else is dumb. The Angels and Giants have said they will not go after Matt Holliday, and there hasn’t been anyone who has stepped up with huge interest in him. Strauss still thinks it is better than 50/50 that Holliday will end up back in St. Louis. 1:02pm – Arizona Cardinals President Michael Bidwell joins the show. Michael enjoys returning to St. Louis each year to play the Rams, and he looks forward to eating on the Hill. Many former St. Louis Cardinals have been invited to sit in Bill Bidwell’s owner’s suite for the game Sunday. The Arizona Cardinals did feel that Kurt Warner would play at a high level when they originally signed him.
1:22pm – Rams insider Jim Thomas joins Bernie live from Rams Park. Larry Wilson was Jim’s favorite football Cardinal. James Hall and Leonard Little are probable for the game this Sunday, and Chris Long will be questionable. Jim says Richie Incognito doesn’t even look close to being able to practice yet, and with the way Adam Goldberg and Jason Smith are playing, Richie may not be back next season. 1:42pm – Bernie talked earlier about how he doesn’t get mad about the Colts leaving Baltimore anymore and asked listeners to text in their feelings on the Cardinals.
