Wow what a weekend! I "got my Mardi on" with my boy J.Ray (Jeff Rainford) from parade time until Mokwa started buzzkilling things. Always makes me proud to see St. Louis put its best foot forward. Even if it lands in a little pile of slush. Mardi Gras belongs walking distance from the World's Largest Brewery!
Speaking of A-B, they knocked it out of the box Sunday with their Super Bowl ads. I liked to picture myself as the little Dalmatian, and Hank the Clydesdale is the city. When I became mayor, The STL wasn't making the cut, but now we are pulling trains and looking good! It's not all me, folks. It's lots of hard work by Hank.
In other brewery news, I had to go grab a 40 of Lemp out of my basement fridge stash and pour out a little for another South Side brewery, the old Falstaff plant. Sorry to hear the old girl went up in flames. I bet that was some rich, hoppy aroma smoking out of there!
I'm going to get on the path to recovery from the weekend with some St. Louis-made Tums. Take care!
