Missouri homegirl Sheryl Crow will apparently be staying home on May 22nd rather than playing a concert at the Fox.

The announcement on her website points to, "unforeseen circumstances relating to conflicting concert production logistics" as the reason the show was canceled.

If you follow the music industry, you know that such "unforeseen circumstances" can often be translated to "sagging ticket sales." No word on whether that's the case here, but there were plenty of tickets available prior to Sheryl calling things off. If the next night's show in Birmingham in any indication, the tour is having some trouble. Tickets are still available in blocks of ten for second and third tier priced seats.

The release goes on to quote a vague promise by Crow and Co. to return to the St. Louis area in the "near future," whatever that means.

The cancellation is a big disappointment. Crow, of course, is from our neck of the woods, and she puts on a top notch rock and roll show. (I've seen her twice)

Oh well. See ya in the "near future," Sheryl.
