SAN JOSE, Calif. (The Associated Press) -

Renato Sobral's light heavyweight mixed martial arts fight with Gegard Mousasi has been picked up by the Strikeforce promotion after Affliction's show next month was canceled.

Sobral (35-8) will put his Strikeforce 205-pound title on the line against Mousasi (25-2-1) during Strikeforce's show at the Shark Tank in San Jose on Aug. 15.

Sobral and Mousasi were scheduled to meet on the undercard of Fedor Emelianenko's bout with Josh Barnett on Aug. 1 in Anaheim, but Affliction canceled the show after Barnett tested positive for steroids and couldn't get a license to fight.

Showtime will televise the latest card by Strikeforce, which is headlined by Gina Carano's fight against Cris Cyborg.
