When's the last time you had somebody pump your gas for you ? I about freaked out last week when it happened to me.
I pulled into a station in Lebanon Missouri and this woman came walking out to my car. I wondered what she was going to say to me. What she said came as a total shock. "Fill it up ?", she asked. "Ah--er--ahhh--yeah---fill it up."
She then asked--"you're paying cash-right ?" And that was when I noticed the sign on the window--no credit cards--cash only. She said that was why she could sell her gas about 20 cents under what other stations were charging.
When she finished pumping and replaced the nozzle into the pump-I handed her the cash and she pulled out a big money bag attached to a long chain and made my change right there.
Now granted-she didn't offer to check under the hood--but it was still a blast from the past. I didn't think anybody still offered full service at a gas station.
