Say, Say, Say was the second song Jackson and McCartney collaberated on, which appeared on McCartney’s “Pipes of Peace” album.  The first was “The Girl Is Mine” which appeared on Jackson’s “Thriller” album.  McCartney and Jackson’s friendship ended in 1985, when Jackson outbid a joint effort by McCartney and Yoko Ono to buy over 200 Beatles songs for $47.5 million.

Paul McCartney did make a statement regarding Michael’s death:

"It's so sad and shocking," McCartney said. "I feel privileged to have hung out and worked with Michael. He was a massively talented boy man with a gentle soul. His music will be remembered forever and my memories of our time together will be happy ones.”

"I send my deepest sympathy to his mother and the whole family and to his countless fans all around the world."

It seems that in his death, Michael Jackson was to heal the longstanding feud with Sir Paul McCartney. It has been  reported that Jackson has left the Beatles back catalog publishing rights to McCartney in his will.  Michael also apparently told his lawyers he was sad he no longer talks to Sir Paul and said he wanted to make things right.”
