I don't think picking up Mike Vick is the answer; that would be a big mistake because his moves have expired along with his image. We obviously need to cut ties with Marc Bulger and take the financial loss because I doubt we will be able to trade him after his poor on field performances over the last three seasons. I say we get a decent veteran in the free agency like Tarvaris Jackson, that is if the Vikings and him part ways this off season, or we could make a trade for him trading away a couple of high future draft picks. Let's face it we won't be able to afford whomever we pick up high in the draft over the next few years anyway with the cap penalties we will have after this disappointing season. Tarvaris wasn't great as a starter but who knows what a year under Brett Favre's tutelage has done for him plus he was steadily improving year to year pre Brett. Brett Favre may be a pain the Vikings' collective butt, but he is a proven winner and in the past his backups have gained a lot of knowledge from him and have gone on to be decent NFL starters around the league. To name a few: Aaron Brooks - Led the turnaround of the Saints in the 2000 season from a 3-13 season previously, the Saints not only made the playoffs with a 10-6 record, but defeated the defending Super Bowl champion Rams, Matt Hasselback - is a 3× Pro Bowl selection (2003, 2005, 2007), 1× All-Pro selection (2005), and 5 playoff appearances (2003-2008), Mark Brunell - is a 3× Pro Bowl selection (1996, 1997, 1999), Pro Bowl MVP (1997), and last but not least Aaron rodgers - A Pro Bowl selection (2009) and a playoff apprearence this season. Then I think we should draft Arkansas' QB Ryan Mallet in the second round or Tennesse's QB Jonathan Crompton in the third round to start training either one to be the future starting QB of the Rams. In the first round I agree with Valcomm5, we should take Nebraska's DT Ndamukong Suh because he is a beast amoung men and we need a GOOD defensive tackle to work along side an okay DT in Clifton Ryan. Adam Carriker can rotate in, but so far it seems he is a bust in St. Louis. Also it seems like Anquan boldin and Brandon marshall will be available in the free agency or trade market and the Rams need a #1 receiver; I just hope we can lure one of those two guys here. Now on to protecting our future QB we should pick up RT Willie Colon if Pittsburgh deceides not to resign him and then we can put Jason Smith where he belongs at LT and cut ties with or trade the false start artist of the century Alex Barron. We also need to pick up at least one guard so how about Jahri Evans if the Saints don't resign him. Money, money, money, money is what the Rams need to spend and lots of it if they want to win next year. (What's this I have been reading about the Cap penality changes in 2010 Randy?) If we do so then I say 2010 is our year! Remember 98' 4 - 12 99' 13 - 3; hey it could happen! Go Rams!rn
